Why would I want to write about myself? I don't really, I feel egotistical and pretentious. But then again, I like reading about other people... So who knows? Maybe you will actually want to read this... or maybe you just have nothing better to do.
Why am I writing here and not in the 'about me' section on my profile you ask? Well that has a limit of characters... I hate limits... Not even the sky will stop me. So, I figure, If I'm going to do this, I might as well do it properly. No one likes to window shop and have a limited view of something... Well I don't either. If you're like me you want to touch it, feel it, the texture running between your fingers... Fondle it... Physically violate it to the point where ownership is no longer a want but a necessity.
Note: I am talking about clothes here.... I do not get such urges in pet shops or day care centres, but thanks for making me appear a creep, how very nice of you.
So what will my blog be about? I'm not going to limit it, it will be open to interpretation, however seeing it will be my writing there is a high chance it automatically have a gravitational pull to fashion, art and my miraculous life of such adventures. To view all of my work click the 'my website' link on my profile which will redirect you to my fb page (facebook.com/hollierdesigns).
I will post the happening of my photo shoots and life as a male model, what's that you say? A male model? Stunning good looks? Fame? Fortune? International exposure? Oh, how I am yet to educate you.
I am currently working on building my portfolio to apply to the local agencies, however the chances of being selected are minimal so I will continue freelance work regardless.
Eventually I will open a youtube blog to coincide with this, one step at a time - settle down, I'm not a machine you know.
My fashion sense is a combination of metro with a large influence of middle eastern influence, such as Indian clothing, often refered to as the 'Boho' look... No that does not mean a homeless person, it's fashion slang for 'Bohemian' which is really a more naturalistic approach to fashion, simple designs and colours, often kept earthy. Think flowing light materials, rocks and crystals often having an incestuous relationship with all garments, more so in the women world. I have and am still developing my wardrobe to have such pieces, to crossover into the world of women's fashion (as men's is like a t-shirt and shorts... How do you expect me to stand out if I'm pressured to 'fit in'?) and some how make them appear masculine.
My music taste is similar to my fashion a fusion of pop culture and the earthy feel of middle eastern influences... I will make another post about that or I'll end up with this post the same length as what many call a thesis.
My signature drink.... That I drink every morning and multiple times throughout the day is a Chai Latte/Tea with rice milk or soy when ordering in a cafe (people in the regular world don't accustom their menu to support people who are heavily into health... society is all about burgers these days... rant rant rant).
The food I enjoy, being vegetarian, is mostly Italian and Indian. As stated previous I try to avoid dairy(lactose) and gluten as well, however it is harder than one might think. Also, I enjoy food and don't support my diet consisting solely of lettuce, regardless of the model stereotypes.
Cars? I don't even know the first thing about them, however I know they go faster if red and cost too much to keep. I have a Holden Sudan, yes I fit the stereotype well, but I really try not to have the music thumping and overtake you only to reach a red traffic light give or take 5 seconds of doing so. My next car will be an Alfa Romeo Spider 1998-2004, preferably white but I am liking the red interiors some other coloured ones have. I'm attracted to the sleek look, not to mention pretending to be expensive with a dwindling bank account is my forte. Fake it till you make it!
My favourite emotion would have to be firstly fear. What the fuck is wrong with me you think? It's not that I enjoy being fearful... Like I hate horror movies... It's just I think its its the foundation to move forward, to succeed. Well... for me anyway.
I also love suspense, it's like the mystery feeling, most times it is impossible to pinpoint the exact reason we feel it but more often then not always relates back to fear. I just think it's an important feeling. Whether it's because something bad is going to happen or something good, it means there is change and change is essential for development and growth.
Now maybe you feel you know it a little better.... Maybe not. My aim was to pick you up off that cold footpath off of Disconnected street where you were staring it me through a frosted window and invite you in to my shop to get to know me and my work better. Although, maybe we should leave the fondling for a later date.
